Wednesday, March 25, 2020 – CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – NEW SICK LEAVE AND EMERGENCY FMLA POSTER

3/25/2020 | General

As we told you last week, the Department of Labor was required to design a poster for employers to post in a “public place” commonly visited by employees regarding the new paid sick leave and Emergency Family Leave benefits available under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.  That poster is here, and the link to the poster is below.  There is also a “Frequently Asked Questions” sheet related to the poster and where employers need to post – the link to those Questions is below as well.

You should post the poster as soon as possible, but no later than 4/1/2020.  Print the poster in color if possible.  There are no Spanish or other language versions available, nor are those specifically required – yet.

What we still are awaiting:

  1. Regulations on Paid Sick Leave and Emergency Family Leave – should arrive later this week or early next week.
  2. Financial assistance to individuals and employers – i.e. direct payments to individual taxpayers, opportunities for grants/loans to businesses related to coronavirus.
